Thanks to a new grant from the School Superintendents Association, New Hampshire schools have a unique opportunity to expand their breakfast programs. The AASA is currently accepting applications for awards up to $10,000.
AASA will provide mini-grants to school districts to increase school breakfast participation through alternative serving methods like Breakfast in the Classroom and Grab n’ Go. These additional funds may be used to buy much-needed equipment, nutrition education materials, and giveaways for increased student participation.
In order to qualify, schools must have 50% or greater eligibility for free and reduced-price meals and an average breakfast participation of below 40%. New Hampshire Schools that meet these requirements can be found here. Additionally, the superintendent of the applying district must be a member of the AASA.
AASA will be accepting applications through September 26, so eligible schools should consider applying today. Applications for this exciting new program can be found at http://www.aasa.org/SchoolBreakfast.aspx. For more information please contact Kellly Beckwith at [email protected].
